Waterloo Awards
If you are expecting a Waterloo award as indicated by your department at
the time of admission, or have subsequently been advised of further support,
an Authorized Waterloo Nomination Form from your Department/Faculty
must be submitted to the Graduate Studies Office (GSO) before your award
can be processed.
External Awards
Awards administered by the GSO for External Agencies (NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR
and OGS) require submission of the following documentation to the GSO before
payment can be initiated.
OGS recipients for 2011/2012:
We have been informed that as OGS acceptances are received at the Ministry,
lists of accepting students who have indicated that they will take up their
award here at Waterloo will be forwarded to us on a weekly basis. Each week
as these lists are received by our office, we will apply the OGS award and
the central portion of the President’s Graduate Scholarships (PGS)
to the quest accounts of the listed students. We will then notify each Faculty
of their students receiving OGS so that they can arrange for the Faculty
matching portion of the PGS. Please be aware that the faculty matching portions
of the PGS will (in most cases) take an additional 1 to 2 weeks to appear
on your quest account.
Please note that we will not be able to apply OGS or PGS awards to student
accounts until the Ministry has officially informed us of acceptance and
the terms of the award.
Should you have any questions regarding the terms of your award, please
contact OGS directly at 1-800-465-3957.
- CIHR - Notifications are sent to the GSO by
the Office of Research once they have received notification from CIHR
outlining the terms of the award.
If awards have been processed through the GSO they can be viewed in the
Finances - Account Summary and/or the Financial
Aid - View My Financial Aid on QUEST.
