Graduate Student Bursary
A number of bursaries are available to full-time Waterloo graduate students
experiencing short term financial need.
Please Note: Effective May 1, 2008, bursaries for graduate
domestic students (Canadian and Permanent Residents) will be administered
by the Student Awards and Financial Aid Office (SAFA) in
a manner similar to bursaries for undergraduate students. With this move
we hope to provide timely service to both undergraduate students and graduate
students with demonstrated financial need.
Please visit the Student
Awards and Financial Aid (SAFA) website for application procedures and
information on our system assigned bursary process.
To demonstrate financial need, all students are expected to apply for OSAP,
or provincial student assistance from their home province, prior to applying
for a Waterloo bursary. OSAP provides various types of assistance based
on financial need to eligible students. Assistance is intended to supplement,
not to replace, the resources of students and their families. See the OSAP
website for details.
